a Volcanic Island

Part of the island is barren...minimal elevation.

The other part of this small island is green forest, 
with Mt. Tiede @ 12,000+ ft high

Jardin Botanico Gardens...established 1700's

We enjoyed these historic gardens !
They were started in 1795 to establish Spain's  horticulture on the islands.

Then drove to historic area: La Laguna established in 1600's
