| We arrived in Rome about noon, and started to walk down to the Colosseum.....we found the street empty!! |

| We thought must be a parade! We discovered the streets were closed for a demonstration. |

| And when we arrived at the Colosseum....this was what we saw. It was advanced preparation for the demonstration. |

| Then the demonstration turned "nasty" right in front of us. |
 |
| We finally managed to get thru/behind the police blockade + away from the demonstration crowds. The vans were parked tight so demonstrators could not get into the Forum area....which meant they wouldn't let tourists get our of the area either. |

| Stores were closed !!....we walked to our hotel on streets that were also closed. Later on TV we watched the events evolve + the destruction.... which did occur. |
