Euro "tripping" was such a wonderful journey !! 
Our "crossing" via Cunard Q.E. was 11 days, 
+ a day of site seeing in New York City. 
Then on to Florida, off the ship, got our R V out of storage,
 'n drove west across the southern states.

Week in Paris.

Ahhhhh, we have returned....

Here we go...

Today....flying from Madrid to Paris. 
We'll stay a week, then take Eurostar/Chunnel to England.

N.W. of Madrid

From Segovia we drove a few miles to see....

El Escorial.....
Above is a painting of the 16th c. palace which has 2,600 windows, 
1,200 doors and ....100 miles of passages. BIG !

After viewing the palace, cathedral, and the grounds
we drove a short distance to....

Valle de los Caídos  ~ Valley of the Fallen
 built 1940-1950  

note:  I am in front of those small open doors that lead to the Basilica, 
which is 300 yards long + built inside the mountain.

Interred in there are remains of 50,000 people who lost their lives in Spain's Civil War. That 33 months of warfare, killed over 500,000 Spaniards. 
This tribute is so placed that it can be viewed from miles away.  
We saw it as we continued our drive on to Madrid, 
where we returned our car.

We really enoyed our time in this country!

Segovia

Today we drove north from Sevilla
and arrived at Segovia about 3 o'clock.

      What a thrill to see this 2,000 year old Roman Acueducto !

    It is made of 20,000 granite blocks w/o mortar.

There are 118 arches.

  Our hotel is on the left with our room window
facing this fabulous sight!  WOW !

Oh yes, of course.... Segovia has a wonderful cathedral, too!

New Year's

                        New Year's Eve we walked to Plaza de la Encarnacion 

                  to see their new structure.... as of 2011.

            and now our wish to you ....

....in 2014 !

Sevilla ~ Seville

Sevilla's cathedral is the 3rd largest in the world .

We were overwhelmed by it's size.....and it's contents. 

The cathedral was immense..... this 1 item was very small.
A little child's crown located in their Treasurery.

HUGE organ !

....and with an early closure for New Year's Eve, 

there was just us in the huge place !
