Leipzig, Germany

We took the train from Berlin 'n stopped here ...just for the day.
Leipzig Town Hall + Exchange Bldg near their Old Market Square.
This is one example of "passages" that go under and thru their
old town buildings. Interesting and elaborate decorations !
J. Bach lived his entire life in this town...
immersed in music from an early age.

Bach spent his last 27 years as director of music at this church.

We spent some time at their New Art Museum,
then caught the train and ....on to Dresden.

Berlin, Germany

We have arrived in....

....and what a great city to visit !
Welcome!... Brandenburg Gates

Sad....The Berlin Wall

Happy ~ Museum Island

....where most of their historical museums are "clustered" together.
The open spaces used by everyone!

History?! Sooooo much to see !

Wow ! The Ishtar Gates ~ 575 BC
Exciting !  Reichstag Bldg/German Government
We went up in that Dome ! Great views of their city
Never lost in this huge city....just used their tall TV tower for our compass.
Got to "Alexanderplatz" ....and caught a tram to "where ever".

Budapest, Hungry

Immense Buildings...Impressive !
On the Pest side ~ Parliament

Same building as viewed from the Buda side of the Danube.

Castle Hill as viewed from Pest side.
Of course, interesting bridges cross over the Danube to connect Buda + Pest.
Note the Castle in background....huge!
The Danube River flows between Buda and Pest.
There is so much river traffic = boats, restaurants, river cruises...

Immense Buildings !?! ...includes many churches

and ...apartment buildings!
I saw many bldgs from my favorite time period.
Love the detail !!

What a visual treat !   :)
And..it was also a "treat" to see so many open spaces thru out their cities.

The former Imperial Library is now the State Hall Library ~ completed 1730.
and has 200,000 old books !!!

The Belevdere. The upper palace and ...
lower palace/red roof + gardens.

...and ART by Gustav Klimt

ahhhhh,  The Kiss
