Rotterdam

We are staying in Rotterdam for a couple nights
and we took day trips via train ...
....to visit The Hague
which has been the Netherlands' seat of government since 1588.

The Parliament Complex / bldgs above.

We also wanted to see this Mauritshuis Gallery !!

A lovely mansion filled with Dutch Golden Age art...
Rembrandt, Rubens, Steen, Hals, Vermeer, Van Dyek 'n others.
Practically had it all alone ! What an experience !

Then we spent time in Delft, for a "smaller" town experience.

Delft's old town hall / above and ...
...the quaint canals make Delft a charming town to see.

of note:  The new contemporary buildings in these last few cities are truly impressive !!!!!  New construction everywhere with very unique structures.

Our Rotterdam hotel (above) is another great example.
This was our departure view from the dock/left side...
The HAL original/vintage office bldg. is now a hotel.
