Return to Quebec City,
We have returned to Quebec City...a wonderful cruise! Cruise ship is parked at the port in the Lower Town or Basse-Ville (we toured this area 2 weeks ago) |
This view is from lower town looking up at Haute-Ville / Upper Town |
The Upper Town is completely fortified. |
These pix were taken as we walked the historic part of Haute-Ville. |
Basilique Cathedrale Notre-Dame started in 1647 + reconstruction was completed 1771 |
Then we drove out to view Montmorency....these falls are 272 ft. high. ( almost 100 ft taller than Niagara Falls) |

LaBaie...remote !!
We cruised up the Saguenay River all morning....it was colorful + picturesque + remote. Below are the 3 settlements that we saw along the way. |

Charlottetown, P. E. Island
Drove about the island.... |
right by the site of Anne of ....... |
The farm with a huge parking lot beside it, is a real tourist draw !! |
Then on to Rustico a village along the seashore... supposedly, this was the first real home on the island, built in 1772. |
Rustico Bank ~ 1864 |
Their church built 1838. |
We drove along their Nat'l Park coast area... |
The soil on this island is reddish....and this is pix of their red bluffs in Nat'l Park |
Cormorants by the dozen |
And many fox along the roadway...just waiting for a hand out |
Since this is a vacation "get away" island...there are so many accommodations for rent. Many of them similar to these charming cottages ( each one trimmed in a diff. color) |
.....and similar to this lodge. |
We drove back to "walka'bout" the historic area of Charlottetown. Really a lovely city. |
~ Farewell... to this wonderful island ! ~ |

Our "welcome" to their city.

We did a walka'bout of their city |
old + new side X side |
Visited their Maritime Museum along the waterfront |
and.....Victorian Gardens established 1836 |
Lovely stroll @75 degrees. Enjoy..... |
Farewell to Halifax ! |
