The whole town is thrilled to have Carnival ships start the weekly port stops to their city. It will be great for their economy.

Grand Bahama....day 2

We rented a car for both days + drove around the island. Enjoyed a morning @ Garden of the Groves...former residence + now a 12 acre wildlife habitat + a lovely lush tropical garden with 10,000 species of plants.

This was a quiet lunch place @ beach away from town.
And...this was a quiet + remote white sandy beach we discovered.
Our very own "paradise" ...for an afternoon.   :>)

Grand Bahama

We spent 2 warm + sunny days on this island.
This was a change in our port stops so the "Magic" could have some minor ship repair.
Since this was the inaugural Transatlantic cruise for this new ship, they gave us a grand welcome to their port.
This is their Port Lucaya Beach....
Jim at Pelican Bay near Lucaya Market Place.
Straw baskets + local shells for sale, of course.

Las Palmas, Canary Islands

"Magic" is docked @ Las Palmas, Gran Canaria

Monday, October 31

Costa del Sol

We are docked at Malaga ... just look up at the Alcazaba + fort along the hill top.
We climbed the walkway up to the hill top + looked down....
on our ship in the harbor
and ...on the Plaza de Toros
and...on their Cathedral de Malaga ~ 1500's
...+ on their public gardens filled with tropical plants + flowers.  Then we walked down the hill + visited each of these places pictured.
We sure enjoyed this warm sunny day in their city .

Farewell to Barcelona.....we depart on the "Magic" today.

Barcelona Museum

Museu National D'Art De Catalunya ..........specializes in Catalunya art work from 12th - 19th century.
We really enjoyed this Barcelona Museum   overlooking the city    c. 1929.
This colorful artifact dates from 12th century.
Every item was well presented in a spacious setting...
What a treat to see these pieces from early 1900's !
Stained glass work, early 1900's
Inlaid wood art detail around this settee.
Their great "relaxing room".....a great museum visit!
